Fault Line Park

1429 Island Ave, East Village, San Diego, CA 92101
Completed: Summer 2015

Fault Line Park is the result of over 13 years of creativity, hard work and lots of patience. While working at Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects, Ilisa Goldman helped design and manage the working drawings for this 1.3 acre urban park located in the East Village neighborhood of San Diego.

Fault Line Park is part of a mixed-use development which includes “Pinnacle on the Park” a mixed-use apartment project that will include more than 950 new homes with 72 affordable (rent and income-restricted), street level commercial/retail space, underground parking, two restaurants – Halcyon and Stella Public House, and public restrooms. A main goal of the park design was to not only create a dynamic urban play environment and much needed open space, but to also highlight the geology of the site by artistically revealing the Rose Canyon Fault that lies beneath.
