On November 12th, we had the please to work with the Live Well Community Market Program at UC San Diego’s Center for Community Health.  The project focused on a small neighborhood food market to improve healthy food access in San Diego. We have been collaborating with African Caribbean Market, the market’s shoppers, and multiple City Heights stakeholders. We had volunteers come together from diverse organizations to assist in the project. Over sixty community volunteers helped construct benches, create a vertical garden space, paint the interior, exterior, and sidewalk, and more!  This collaborative project speaks volume to the community that simple yet meaningful changes can create a positive impact.
